I also am looking for a fix for this svchost error - 0xf referenced memory. There have been a couple of fixes I tried but they cause other problems - therefore they're not working either. Same exact refrences "0x74f"referenced memory at "0x" the memory could not be "read". Right behind the memory error message I get a svchost application error, I send an error report and the computer locks up. I don't know if this is related but it happened after I attempted to install updates. The computer locked up during the update installation and stayed that way for 12 hours. I finally shut it off manually and I have had this problem ever since.
I restored to a previous date, I tried to get udpates again and it locks up , obviously I scanned for virus's etc Double click the service "Automatic Updates". Click on the Log On tab, please ensure the option "Local system account" is selected and the option "Allow service to interact with desktop" is unchecked. Check if this service has been enabled on the listed Hardware Profile.
