Hi Liam, I have always kept my antivirus currrent, including definition files. I have alway run daily virus scans. I keep them current and conduct regular scans with them as well. I also keep my system up to date with the Windows Updates. I believe that the option to show hidden files dissappeared after applying a Windows Update, but cannot verify that as I did not notice it for some time.
