Hi Liam, I have always kept my antivirus currrent, including definition files. I have alway run daily virus scans. I keep them current and conduct regular scans with them as well. I also keep my system up to date with the Windows Updates. I believe that the option to show hidden files dissappeared after applying a Windows Update, but cannot verify that as I did not notice it for some time.

However, there is an easy way of showing hidden files and folders in Windows. Hidden files and folders will appear dimmed to indicate they are not typical items and they are usually program or system files that should not be deleted or changed.
